So, there’s this election. And you should vote in it. I turned in my absentee ballot today, in person. Ended up changing my mind on governor after going to the Angelides rally at the California Nurses Association. I had voted for Camejo, but changed it. I thought before that he just wasn’t a great candidate, but then his speech convinced me. As well as the thought of another 4 years of Governor

300 Million Americans
Wednesday, November 1, 2006
Some time last month, we passed the 300 million mark of population in the United States. That’s huge. If divided evenly, each senator would be representing 3 million people. It’s a testament to the genius of our forebears that we’ve lasted this long as a nation. Searching through the national archives for those war posters, I found some films from the Department of the Interior, talking about

It annoys me to be called unpatriotic. It also annoys me that "San Francisco values" and "liberal" are wielded in vitriolic name-calling. As code words for all that is evil with the world, or Democrats, anyway.

It demeans the public discourse to use code words as a substitute for meaningful debate. It lowers civil society to playground bullying. Moreover, by quashing inquiry, it leaves our

Get involved
Reader AH asks how people can join me. Answer: Send emails to your friends. Put a badge on your Web site. Tell me how I can make “You’re the Decider” better. Buy and display stickers, buttons, and GOTV shirts. People wanted to give me money, so there’s a paypal button down below, and I’ll use the money to buy web ads. But really I’d rather you just talk to people and get them to vote.

Why I’m doing what I’m doing

Visitor FP suggests more prominent placement of my story. So here you go. Short answer: On 9/12, I quit my very fun, fulfilling, and awesome corporate job that was the envy of many. I’m a patriot, love my country, and am tired of some people saying I don’t. And I don’t want my kids to have to clean up an even bigger mess.

Don’t let the terrorists win
Right now, there’s a debate going on, though you’d hardly know it, about whether fundamental American principles that have served this country well for more than 200 years should be thrown by the wayside as so much litter, in the name of being tough on terrorism. If we change our laws, laws that served through the Civil War, World War II, and the cold war, then the terrorists succeeded. And the people who died on September 11, died for nothing.
(Yes, that’s melodramatic, but so is calling people unpatriotic when they question current policy.)
