The Republican-controlled Congress, at the request of the President, passed legislation yesterday such that:
★Evidence gained by torture would be admissible in trials.
★People could be sentenced to death based on such unreliable and immoral evidence.
★US Citizens can be declared 'enemy combatants' without even leaving the US, and have no recourse in court to challenge such a declaration, and then are subject to the treatment above.
And really, merely so they could accuse Democrats in attack ads of “giving more rights to terrorists.” No, they just want to uphold the ideals the country was founded upon.
Even if you might think that the legislation is a good idea, this administration has proved itself so incompetent at so many things that it’s impossible to believe that they wouldn’t make numerous mistakes in the execution of such policy.
And it’s one thing to waste millions of dollars because you don’t care about workmanship. It’s another when those mistakes cause unnecessary human pain and death. And you never admit you’re wrong. Even if it’s a good idea, these people shouldn’t have it as a tool.

Well, they did it
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security.
